The General Manager will have overall responsibility for the business, as well as the specific tasks of marketing, sponsorships, business development, daytime programming, lacrosse leagues, and general website maintenance.
The Field House General Manager since the business opened has been one of the owners, John Wack. John has management, sales, and start-up business experience. He owned and managed a data center equipment installation company and was a top sales performer selling the same equipment for the manufacturer. He co-founded and raised approximately $1MM for a technology real estate company.
He also has been active in the lacrosse community, playing in high school, for Dartmouth College, and for clubs for the last 25 years. He has been employed as a player and coach by the English Lacrosse Union in Bath, England, and the Melbourne Cricket Club in Australia. He has been associated with the Washington DC Lacrosse club for 20 years and currently plays for their masters team.
John will have full responsibility for the development of the lacrosse program. The current adult offering will be strengthened and expanded. Adult tournaments will be developed. The summertime camp will be expanded to take up both fields of the expanded facility. Winter ball will grow from HS only to include youth divisions.
Finance Manager- Marion Scott
The Finance Manager is Marion Scott. Marion has been with the Field House since the doors opened. Marion has a BS in business administration from Coastal Carolina University. She was raised locally and played Field Hockey for Fauquier County’s Liberty High School. She will oversee accounts receivable and payable, memberships, payroll, staff administration, concessions, pro shop, and supply needs for sports, parties, and facility maintenance.
SoccerTots Director- Jamie Tierney
Jamie started with the Field House last spring as a Tots instructor and later as Field Hockey coordinator. A 2001 graduate of Radford University where she played field hockey, Jamie is also currently coach of the James Monroe HS varsity field hockey team that won last season’s district tournament. She plays adult field hockey for the Mavericks Club from Washington DC.
League Manager- Chris Tierney
Chris was one of the early customers of the Field House playing in our soccer leagues and captaining the moderately successful “Flying Ball” dodge ball team. He has helped out on a part time basis since the winter. Chris is a 1998 graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism. He previously worked for Stafford County Schools in their Passport Program for students with emotional disturbances. He was previously employed by the City of Steamboat Springs, CO as a Recreation Specialist in their Teen, Youth, and Sport programs and in the Community Youth Corps.
