Fredericksburg native Daniel Rodriguez captivated the nation after earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his role in a firefight against 400 Taliban Insurgents. Daniel came home a different person, and turned to alcohol to deal with the pain. After roughly a year, he made the decision to change the narrative and started rigorous workouts and health regiments. His friend filmed his football-based drills and the videos went viral on Youtube and Twitter.

Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney saw the videos and immediately extended Daniel an offer to come play for the Tigers' program. At age 24, Daniel headed to Clemson where he played in 37 consecutive games. His story became a staple in college football, getting covered by ESPN, Sports Illustrated, the Los Angeles Times, FOX Sports, CNN and just about every major media outlet in the country. He went on to sign with the St. Louis Rams, but was released at the start of the season.

Daniel is now a New York Times best-selling author and spends the majority of his time speaking to colleges, pro sports teams and Fortune 500 companies. He's also working on his second book and has been in negotiations for a potential feature film about his story. He lives in Los Angeles full-time.

"It's just a big honor to play with him. If there's ever a reason to play hard, it's to know you've got a guy 100 times more badass than you watching you play. You want to make sure you're working as hard as you can." - Philadelphia Eagles Star Chris Long

"To have him in our locker room and a part of our team is priceless. He's earned the team's respect and they admire him greatly. Typical 18-22 year-olds don't think too much about the future, so this guy brings a whole different perspective. He's humble and a natural leader." - Clemson Football coach Dabo Swinney

"Daniel, mature, hard-working young people like you give me great confidence in America's future. You have shown remarkable resilience and determination in pursuing your dream, I commend you for all you have accomplished." - William Jefferson Clinton, former President of the United States
